Skiers must wear a FIS approved helmet with a face protector (chin guard) prior to any gate training or participation in races at
Mt. Brighton. Also, the helmet must have hard plastic at the ears (a racer helmet). Many helmets sold for boarding and free skiing have soft material at the ears -- this helmet is not allowed for alpine skiing.

Used items can be purchased from the Equipment for Sale tab on this website or check out the local ski swaps listed under Documents/Info tab.
Mandatory Equipment: (Note: Proper fitting boots are the most important item.)
Optional Equipment:
Additional info:
Skiers are required to have their own skies, poles, boots, goggles, shin guards, pole guards and helmet with chin guard and hard covering over the ears. Racing suits are optional. The team provides each skier with a team ski jacket which must be returned at the end of the season. Mt. Brighton offers lockers for rent for the season which enables skiers to leave their skis and poles at the hill all week. Often skiers double up on the lockers. Those who share lockers spilt the cost equally. Alternatively, skiers can transport their equipment each day (which means bringing it to school). Lockers are reserved at the beginning of the season by the coach. Used equipment is great option. Craigslist, Facebook, eBay, and ski swaps are great places to get used equipment at reasonable prices. Equipment from previous team members is also an option.
